Will C5Z rears clear AP brakes?
Posted this is C5 general section with no responses, and can't seem to get a good result when using the search function. I recently purchased a C5Z with AP 6-piston front brakes and 14" rotors. I'm just checking if I can make the C5Z rears work on the front end of the car? I'd love to purchase a couple of sets of C5Z wheels for track duty as they are a heck of a lot cheaper than the CCWs that are on the car currently!
Here's the ride:
2001 Z06 w/Lingenfelter 427
Should be a lot quicker than my last Z!

they should, but you'll need to test fit one to make sure the caliper has proper spacing with the spokes. Past that its only 14" ~ 355mm so, the 18in wheel should fit over it no problems.

He's talking about the C5 Z rear wheels. They are 18". Fronts are 17". He's asking if the oem 18's will fit over the front calipers if he bought another set and used them in the front.

Melting Slicks
I'd try to borrow some for a test fit, mine would not clear my 365mm 14.4" Brembos even with a 1/2" spacer so it might be close. They do work nice on the front if they will clear for sure

Thank you everyone for the replies. I suppose I'll have to try and find a set for the test-fit. I sure wish I would've kept the extra sets of wheels I used to have laying around...
Dvandentop, C5Z rears on the front will HOPEFULLY clear the big brakes, as there is no way the stock 17" wheels will. A lot of guys actually run the 18" Z06 wheels front and rear for a square setup, though I never have in the past. It'll be a new adventure that's for sure.
If I can get all of the little projects done before April, I'll take it up to Road America for an initial shake-down... That ought to test those brakes, eh?

I run AP 6 pots (CP5555) up front with 355mm rotors and have zero clearance issues with the 18x10.5 speedlines.... but I'm slow
Looks like you have the DRM setup...exactly what I have. That setup even works under CCW 18" classics with a 1/4" spacer.

You can also run the ST-60 pad in the CP-5555, which is all I have run for the past two years. You will find that the ST-60 is typically cheaper and in many cases your only choice. The backing plates are identical where they interface with the caliper. The 5555 shape, on the pads I bought in the past, tend to have ear extensions, proximal to the rotor hat, that have no pad material on them. They are nice indicators of remaining pad depth, but serve no other purpose that I can conceive of.

Thanks for the tips/advice!
I found tonight that I have PFC01's on the car with a bunch of life (the back of the pads read RR 01 AHARD). I'm sure they are great for the track, but I haven't read a bunch of good stuff about them on the street and for autocrossing like the car MAY see. Though I plan on spending most of the time on the track for HPDE's and TT events, it WILL still see the street and low speed autocrosses. PM sent to DVandentop reference the HP+ pads.
