Cadillacs raced at LeMans long ago...it may even be earlier than Corvette did. Cadillac is staring down the barrel of 100 years of continuous production. I guess GM wants Caddy to be visible in Europe so it can compete against the likes of Mercedes etc.
Corvette didn't race until 1960. Briggs Cunningham entered 3 Corvettes in 1960 and Camoradi (Castner Motor Racing Division) entered a 4th. The #3 car finished 8th overall and won the over 5000 cc GT class. Here is a 1:43rd model of #1:
