Default Gutting windows on C5 race car

I am wanting to remove the driver and passenger size windows and all hardware from my C5 racecar to reduce some of the useless weight. My question is how do you open the door if all the hardware is removed? Dont really want to reach outside to open the door. Any photos of your setup would be greatly appreciated.

I left the outer handle in place. When I want to get out of the car I just reach over and use the outer door handle.

you can retain the factory inner handles if you want and still remove the windows and motors.

Just did this last month, and weighed everything I took out ... not as much as I expected, but still a lot. Panel, window, regulator, speaker, computer module and wiring harness = 24.5 lbs per side. I left the inside latch handle like Beretta did and won't cut out the inner shell and reenforcement bar until the cage goes in.

There you go, John. That should be enough to move you into TT4. I'm bringing my scales this time.

If you need the name of a company that can help you w/ removable side windows for the pits or trailering, let me know. I found one that provides sheet lexan or plexiglas that is roughly cut to the right shape and has the right bend to it.

Thanks for that. I imagine the Inner shell and reinforcement bar could be worth several additional lbs each side - eh ?
