Road race oil pan
I'm replacing the blown engine with another L98 style in my "91" Corvette. The car is to be setup to run NASA ST3 at about 325 HP [ rear wheel HP ].It had a Canton roadrace pan and 2 qt Accusump. When the engine blew it took the pan with it. Since the car has a accusump do I really need a road race pan??

There are lots of good, readily available pans out there. Kevko, champ, etc., but Dan Olsen makes some of the best and also does custom. Not sure if he already has one for your combo, but it's worth a call to find out.

Sorry to hear about the engine problems Rudy. I got rid of my Canton pan and switched to a cheap Jeg's pan. It's called a circle track pan but it has trap doors around the oil pick up.
I have a red light on the dash to show less than 15 psi and it flickers in long hard turns the same as when I ran the Canton road race pan (I don't run an accusump).
I'll be sending out my first oil sample this year to Blackstone to get the official results but it was a cheaper alternative and it's a lot easier to pull the engine vs the Canton pan that barely fit between the engine mounts...
Hope to see you in July at MidO.
It looks like they raised the price...hmmm

Matt , I don't have your E Mail addtress. Send the the info directly at orawiecs33@comcast.net

Rudy I have a Melling hi-volume oil pump with a Canton oil pickup press fit to it. It was on my LT1 but if the L98 uses the same pump you are welcome to it, I have no use for it anymore.

If it were mine I would weld patch it and run it. They are usually fixable! I would still use the race pan. If your accusump has a problem the pan is always there.

Thanks again for all the info. And thanks for the offer of the oil pump/pickup. I'll just order a new pump/pickup when I place my engine order next week. Hope to be up and running by the end of June.

Matt and Jon.
I have a garage for NASA July and Aug MO. If either of you guys need use of the garage [ air, electricty , covered work area ] do not hesitate to ask for use of the garage. More than happy to move my car outside while you take care of your needs.

Thanks! I should have mine back up and running over the weekend and ready for the rest of the season. Just need to figure out if it's an ST2 or ST3 car this year
