Default Anyone measure Center of Gravity height?

I tried to measure Cg height on my car following the longacre racing procedure. I was able to raise the rear about 17 inches, as that's all I was comfortable doing at the time. The calculation said my Cg height is 15.68 inches off the ground. Here is a link to the procedure:

http://www.longacreracing.com/techni...spx?item=42586

I did not replace my shocks with a solid link like it says to.

Has anyone else measured their Cg height? Am I in the ballpark? Should I trust my measurements? For reference my car is a gutted and caged C5

Thanks

I've been using 15" so you're in the ballpark Dave.

Don't really have any input on the CoG topic, but since you are in central OH, and I am SW OH... where did you have your cage done? I am looking for a good place to have it done to my '01 C5Z

What I wonder is how much can you effectively move the CG by doing stuff like getting rid of the A/C which is high, adding the rollover hoop which is high adding ballast for your race class that is low, and lowering the car an inch?

I did my own cage but a friend of mine had his done by Mark McMahan in Akron, OH. Outstanding quality. Here is his website.

Or you could contact Danny Popp in the Cincinnati area.

I did mine a couple of years ago and came up with 15.89, but I ran the rear of my car very high. Haven't done it since the setup changed and hung a bunch of ballast.

I know the C5 rides a little higher than C4s so it might have a slightly higher CG than a C4. I have a 92 Vette Owner's video where John Heinrecy is discussing the various points of that car and he mentions the CG is 12 inches which is lower than some purpose built race cars. The actual C5 CG may be lower than 15 inches.
