C5 Transmission cooler temp sensor / T fitting
I'm trying to put together a transmission and differential cooler kit for a C5 Z06. I want to do something like DRM, but am going to have lines made at a local shop, and use different electric pumps:

My question is what size end is needed for the t-fitting to mount the transmission temp sensor into the oil fill plug, with the line exiting.

You may have to settle for a more standard 1/2" NPT T and use adapters to get to the AN fitting.

I'll be very curious if you do a parts list and DIY on this. I want to put a cooler kit together but don't have the time or ability to invest in the R&D. I don't want to spend the big bucks to put a DRM/GM kit in. (I'm also not going to w2w my car so I don't think I can justify the expense.)

Why not install a thermocouple switch on the case like the GM T1 Transmission Cooling System uses? Set it up to turn the pump on when the case temperature hits 180 to 190. Just drill a small hole in one of the transmission flanges close to the main case and let it do its thing. Mine would come on after a few laps around the Glen or if I was on a couple hundred mile road trip.
The GM sensor part number is: 12480087 Thermal Switch

I am doing something very similar, but I want to keep the pumps protected from the elements...I was lucky an obtained 2 Weldon 9200-A pumps for a good price. I was thinking of installing the pumps down in the trunk well of a C5Z behind the diff. Has anyone tried this?
My only concern is that the fluid levels in the diff/trans may be slightly lower than the location of the pumps.
Does anyone have experience with mounting pumps in this location?
I have looked for the fittings and have found most/all available from summit. Another challenge I have, due to lack of experience, is figuring out how to easily change fluids and ensure that they are at the correct levels. On the tranny, I suspect the key would be to remove the temperature sending unit from the T-fitting and fill until fluid escapes. Perhaps a similar setup would work on the diff, but that T-fitting has been somewhat elusive.

Best i can figure here's a decent parts list... Still $500 and you have to make lines get brackets etc... YMMV
The Genesis Pump can be obtained from amazon for $209 also

Old thread re trans temp monitoring, inlet
Per Last C5; You need a T with a 1/2" NPT male (goes into the tranny), 1/2" NPT female (for the sensor), and an AN -8 or -10 depending on what lines and pump fittings you decide on. I'd go with the -8.[/QUOTE]
I got this from local supply house
But my hose end is -14 , which is apparently no longer made. so that inlet is going to be dicey if youcan't find a -14 to 1/2 inch pipe. But I breathed a sigh of relief when the guy cam e up with this

I don't think that's a -14 line. A -14 is 7/8".
