Isle of Man TT
watched some on Velocity
Reminds me of early F1 races,
and not in a good way.
No run off protection at all
Seen more to keep spectators off course at a marathon
180mph through downtown
Lost another rider this year, there's been more than 140
Some more spectators were injured over the weekend.

I can't imagine watching the TT with safety or risk on my mind. I watch it for the shear beauty of the speed, precision, and insanity of it. I hope it never changes as it will end it for sure.

Makes you wonder how they tuck down so low on those bikes, doesn't it? Since it's not American, it'll take longer to get strangled like the spectator positioning at the Pike's Peak Hill Climb. Leave it to the U.S. to ***** up the manliest of motorsports.

The best race on Earth, period. TV coverage this year was really weak though. So far one Racer died, and one spectator who was riding the course before the races started. Compare that death toll to any Bike Rally here in the US, or even a sewing convention, and it's on par. I don't know how often, if ever, spectators get creamed, I've never heard of it happening in the 15+ years I've been watching it, but the Europeans generally seem to behave themselves at those types of events, unlike here where you can't even have a soccer game without someone getting pushed over a railing. BTW coverage resumes tonight at 11 EDT on Velocity.

Not sure the Isle "butt cam" gives you much of a sense for the event.
Gonna see if I can dvr it next showing.
It's a series? 22 episodes left?
How often do they run?
???

The Baja 500 actually runs in Mexico. Every year I attend Mexico Bike Week in Puerto Penasco, and until recent years it's pretty much been a lawless **** show. I'm surprised in Baja more spectators don't get run over, as you can see from the video they literally run back and forth across the track. That is nothing like the Isle of Man races.

I'm still an F1 fan but I have to say the motorcycle road races have really become my favorite as F1 is becoming boring.
You can also find "the real road race series" on another channel maybe even Mav TV. They show the races from Ireland and other places in the UK.
I know the race is dangerous but it's a lot safer than it used to be. We also see postings of folks injured or worse at track days. I gave up my street bikes a few years back due to danger on the street but I still went to the track as it was safer IMO. Of course it's not the IOM but given the chance I'd do a lap!
I have several of the IOM races on DVD from Duke video but I need to see if they have Blu-ray and pick up a lot more. The racing is just full of excitement and while you have the top racers anyone can win.
My best friend and I were supposed to go to the IOM or NW 200 next year but he went and passed away on me this year. I will still have to go as that was our plan.
