Default Where to purchase trackable LSX crate engine?

Looking for a $10k ish LSX for a C5 track/road race car. Could expand the budget some for more power and or dry sump.

At a minimum needs to be over 500 hp and have oil pan or mods that will last on the track.

Suggestions?

Good/bad experiences?

Scoggins Dickey, Pace Performance, others will be lower in price to save cash for oil pan or cash towards DS. The LS3 dry sump version for 2013 GS 6 speed is also available for less than $10k but is rated at 430 HP and still needs DS external components.

Take a look at Golen engine service. I just received a new long block RHS build from them. It took 7 weeks from order to completion. Good price too

Most engine builders might poo-poo this idea but GM crate engines are a legitimate option. I know of one that is successfully campaigning the SCCA circuit now with a half dozen races to date. This, after blowing quite a few custom built engines in the past.

I just recently saw this offering from Chevy for sale at Scoggins Dickey.

LEGENDARY LS PERFORMANCE IN A PACKAGE THAT’S PERFECT FOR
SPEC RACING

Meet the DR525 crate engine. It’s an iconic small block LS3 6.2L with the powerful ASA camshaft, and now in a competition drag racing application. The engine comes factory sealed so you can go from the crate to the staging lanes in minimal time, with no modifications. Initially designed as the spec engine for National Muscle Car Association’s new LS Stock racing class, the DR525 is the perfect choice for spec class racing or if you just want to update your bracket-racer with an electronic fuel-injected powerhouse.

On the inside, the DR525 crate engine is built out with components designed to meet the high standards of competitive racing. The 376 cu. in. aluminum block is packed with a sturdy reciprocating assembly that combines with LS3-type rectangular-port heads to deliver a 10.7:1 compression ratio. A high-lift, hydraulic roller camshaft delivers a whopping 0.525-inch of lift on the 2.16-inch intake valves and 0.525-inch lift on the 1.59-inch exhaust valves, enhancing the LS3’s tremendous airflow and broad torque curve.

The DR525 crate engine comes complete as a sealed unit, but you do have the choice of the Chevrolet Performance Muscle Car Oil Pan Kit (P/N 19329009) or the Gen4 F-body oil pan (P/N 19329008).
