Default Control arm help

Removed upper rear arm to re-lube the bushings. All has gone fine till I tried to re- install the arm. Can not get the arm to go into the slots in order to bolt them in. Appreciate any thoughts on completing this. Thanks,

Gene

Safe to assume this is a 71' Corvette?

Well I'm assuming these are aftermarket bushings since you're lubing them. My best guess is whomever removed the old bushings and installed the new bent the control arm getting them out. You can probably muscle them back in, or bend them back slightly with a press if you have one. But if you got them out and only lubed them, then they should go back in even if it takes a little elbow grease.

Have installed the bushings with no problem. Having trouble getting the arm into the channels/slots in order to get the bolts in. Watched a video that said it may take a little persuasion to install them. Have used quite a bit of persuasion with no luck. Installed the arm on the ball joint first before attempting to get the arm in the slots. Can get one side in but the other ---no way. Looking for ideas. Thanks,

Gene

MY video? Just guessing. I would disconnect the ball joint & use persuasion on the arm. Watch my video (if you haven't) and you have to use the right size pry bar, the right place to put it & the right angle & amount of pressure, etc. It's sort of a finesse thing, not a brute force thing. Once you get it lined up it'll (almost) go in by hand. DO NOT FORCE IT! Hope that helps.

Froggy47, thanks for the help. Have reviewed your video and it was a very helpful guide. Just didn't understand the last part putting everything back together. Sending a PM.
