Formula One - Europe (Baku) Schedule on NBC Sports Network
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
ALL SHOWS ARE ON NBC SPORTS NET THIS WEEKEND
1. THE TIMES AND DAYS FOR THIS RACE ARE DIFFERENT SO PAY ATTENTION!
2. THERE ARE THREE SHOWINGS OF THE RACE THIS WEEKEND
3. THERE ARE TWO SHOWINGS OF QUALIFYING AND ONE SHOWING OF PRACTICE.
The post-race show "F1 Extra" is shown immediately after the race show
whatever time that may be. NBC schedules "F1 Extra" to start 2 hours after
the start of the race but, in reality, it's always shown immediately after the race
irregardless of the clock. The simplest way to make sure you record "F1 Extra" is
simply to add enough extra time to the race broadcast recording to get (a) any
extra time that was needed to record the entire race including any delays, and
(b) "F1 Extra". My standard is to add at least three hours (!) just to make
sure I cover most eventualities.
I pull this info from from my Tivo's schedule. I have no guarantee that
it is correct but it usually is. I also double check it with the NBC Sports
NET schedule.

Here's a most interesting piece on the latest "pushing the boundaries" game in F1:

Looks like we have some safety issues. A lot of cut left rear tires in FP1. GP2 qualifying cancelled. FP2 on time start appears to be in doubt. Details on BBC Sport.
Apparently the kerbs are metal vs. typical plastic and some anchor bolts came loose. Bolts removed and kerbs welded together. Back on for FP2.

I will go out on a limb and predict several wrecks / SC's and slow clearing of the disabled cars as it's all new to this venue.
A really high speed street circuit should be fun, old city section of the course vs the new city section.
I think they will sort out the curbs b4 quali.
Those narrow city streets remind me of driving a rental car around Barcelona where you "share" the narrow city streets with a lot of pedestrians.

Merc must really be getting pressed by the other teams, they're making more and more mistakes; none real fatal but they just got the mapping configuration set up wrong on both cars.

I really enjoyed the race much more than I thought I would. That super long stretch was fascinating to watch, and made for more passing opportunities than I thought the race would have. Actually made DRS pretty effective as well.
Z, sorry I didn't get in here earlier to say "thanks", just now got to the thread, so "Thanks!"
Have a good one,
Mike

Here's a thought - have three of those "fans of complexity" engineers at each power unit manufacturer moved into a new department tasked with making that steering wheel that everyone loves to marvel at a ton less complex. Have a setting something like "turn these three ***** to zero and then hit the big red button" to emulate "CTRL-ALT-DELETE" on a PC. If you do the math re: all the possible settings that those steering wheel options represent, the resulting number of combinations is literally ridiculous. Hamilton is correct in this regard - the driver shouldn't be confronted with that nonsense. But *THAT* is what the complaint should be, Lewis (and Toto and Fernando and Kimi) - not the radio rules which are 100% on target.
Sheesh.
