Default Hesitation at WOT on tack?

Last weekend had bad hesitation coming out of a corner during my final laps of the day. Tank had about 4 gallons in it. First time I’ve felt this in all my track time and I typical get close-ish to empty toward the end of the day.

Fuel supply or could be something else? Figure I’ll just keep more gas in the tank going forward, but anything else I should be worried about?

Check the fuel filter while you're at it.

Filter is very new, but may change it again anyway. Next track day I'm going to keep min 1/4 tank. This kinda freaked me out so thinking to go back to 50% E85 for the summer, even though unrelated... love E, but a hassle with the extra vol needed and finding stations.

i've had the same issue on a high G left hander, with 1/2 tank of gas.
Was this fuel starvation or potentially something else? with full tank does not happen...

Have you checked it since running laps? I went out for a session at Pocono where I started with somewhere around a quarter. Gauge read that I still had fuel. I ran some laps, but ended the session early because I was cooked for the day. Parked my car and loaded my gear up. When I got in to leave, I started it and i got the warning indicators of "Reseerve Fuel" or "low fuel" and the needle didn't budge from empty. Seems like the gauge didn't keep up with fuel usage or sloshing around during the lap. If you haven't checked since running, it could be lower than you thought while on the track.

Yeah, I'm familiar with our spastic gauge... I filled up when leaving putting 14 gallons in, so had plenty of fuel before empty. I had the hesitation in both left and right turns.

I'm not going to worry unless it happens again.

my issue was the balancer coming loose, belt slipping and spark interruption due to alternator not spinning. hope that's not your issue.

This is a long shot, but what gear were you in? Is it possible you hit the rev limiter?

Ha, I've never hit the rev limiter on any car I've driven... seems fun though.

Gotta be fuel. Slight concern could be a siphoning issue between tanks, but not worrying unless happens again. Next track day is in 2wks.

Have you checked codes? I had a hesitation at WOT once and found a broken wire into the air flow meter. Figured it out by looking at the codes.

Same here, different root cause. Codes said Speed density calculation and mass air flow calculations were not in agreement so the computer cuts fuel resulting in nasty hesitation. This was at higher RPM though.

Point is you should check the codes. My experience did not illuminate the CEL.
