Airbags going off because of noise??
I know this is not a Vette but for those with newer Vettes that have all the different airbags and airbag sensors from the factory, it might be worth looking at this. This guy thinks his airbags went off because of the exhaust cut outs and extreme loudness they caused. Maybe yes or maybe it is a combination of noise, increased vibration due to the roll cage or did somebody short out a wire when modifying the car and at full song it made contact?? Who knows, but it is always prudent to remember these newer cars all have multiple airbags and sensors on them when modifying or working on the vehicle.
For track use, it might be best to disable all the airbags, especially if you're caged, harnessed and wearing a HANS type device. What do you guys think?

Cage and harness without a helmet/HANS?!?!?!?!?!?! There isn't even any padding on the bar right next to his or his daughter's head!
The Camaros and CTS-Vs have been having airbag issues for years. GM's recommendation is to remove the fuse when you are on track.

He's driving on the street. Why would he have a helmet and Hans?

They would be much better off with only the factory 3 point belt if not using a head/neck restraint. You do not want to retain the body snuggly in the seat and allow the head to snap forward. It will decapitate the spinal cord. The factory 3 point and all available air bags would be much better.
