Most-undervalued performance classics
This thread relates to the thread about the new GT3. I have been closely following the collector car market for most of my life, and I find it surprising that Corvettes have not followed the market trends for European classics. When you see a 1970 Porsche 912 targa, a car that used to be almost worthless, sell for $70K, most classic Corvettes look like a bargain.
Anyway, here is my top 4 list.
1) Pre-1972 Corvettes.
2) 1995 Mustang Cobra R. Only 200 made. The only car other than the original Ford GT that you could buy from the factory with a fuel cell. A true homologation special. At $25 or $30K, they are hugely undervalued compared to similar cars.
3) Lexus LFA. Until just recently they were selling for less than their original sticker price. There is just something about them.
4) My C5 Z06. Track-day enthusiasts known they are the best performance value, but few know just what a great driver's car this is.
