Oh, history provides the answer to that question: Darn near zero. That's why DRS was invented.
Since it's there, I just wish they'd eliminate restrictions on where it can be used. These drivers are supposed to be the best in the world: if one can handle using DRS around a curve, let them!
Have a good one,
Mike

Yea I like DRS... I kinda even miss the KERS button a few years ago... Even indycar has PUSH to pass... I like that more than the FANBOOST of formulaE... I feel thats unfair kinda

Love it or not, we are stuck with DRS at least until 2021.
Waiting on the new formula is something of a joke, but that's what happens when the inmates are allowed to run the show.
Liberty has a huge challenge to get control of F1 back from the teams.
If they don't, we're stuck with this kind of nonsense for God knows how long.

they'd have to get much less dependent on aero and more on mechanical grip for any passing...I hate when someone catches up and then cant even get close because the aero wont work behind the front car's disturbed air

Even the drivers complain about the cars being too tame and not dangerous enough.

Gotta disagree about the relationship between aero and speed.
If you remove aero drag, the cars will corner and stop slower but be faster in a straight line. Might be pretty spectacular on the tracks with long straights. That would give the drivers something new to complain about!
F1 has always had some limits on performance, but for years it was just engine size. Would it be too hard to change the aero rules to minimize air disturbance for following cars?

They have to be forced to change.
I have always wanted an AM, but not one with a turbo in it...how unfortunate IMO.

Another article on security at Brazil GP
Wow, this article's opinion on the Sao Paulo mayor's comments about security improving if the track is privatized ominously makes sense:

Don't think I'll be going there anytime soon!

Not surprising.
No doubt the mayor is in line to get a kickback on the sale of the track.
There isn't anything people won't do for money.

Imagine breaking an engine in Practice or Qualifying this week and having to sit out the Race because there are no spares.
