The F1 coming and going, here a "superbe vue" in the foreground with the Ferrari, it's the exit of the pits so start line with the 1st curve and after the rise towards the casino and in the background the curve of "le bureau de tabac", curve 12 and in the right, the "piscine" (swimming pool) curve.

Big dilemma for the leading teams according to Pirelli because some of them want to do Q2 (the best time tyres are mounted for the start of the race) with the US tyres and not the HS. eIn principle, only one stop but there will be SC. The will of these teams is to make as few laps as possible with the HS whose life could be 20 laps maximum, nobody really knows, that's spice

FP3 : violent runaway excursion of Max ''Crashtappen'', hits the barriers at ''la piscine'' turn 14. Hope the team can repair in 2 hours before the Q...

For Q2, only the first 15 pilots
Q1 Crashtappen was unable to take part to Q, the mechanics couldn't have performed a miracle, gearbox to change , 5 grid penalties but he will start at the last grid. Exploit of Charles Leclerc

Q2 new track record Ricci 1 11 278
Exploit of Gasly going to Q3

Ricci, le Prince de Monaco en qualifications, record of the track, ahead V4 and Hamilton. A lap really exceptionnal by Ricci, Hamilton has been overtaked by V4 in the 2nd lap of Q3.

Sorry to see Crashthappen out of the pole fight.
He was my pick for victory tomorrow. I thought that the soda makers would qualify well, and if he could just avoid crashing...

I too, despite Ricci's good FPs, in my mind the pole was for Crashtappen because obviously in FP, he had still kept some speed under the pedal, really a shame his season start. If it were another driver, Marko the one-eyed would have already fired him but Marko is his father (protector) and the one who counts in the soda factory, more than Christian Horner who starts to get annoyed this Saturday in view of his declarations, "He's in a car capable of winning the race... he needs to stop making these errors"...

I think Sainz threw him off a bit:

Since passing is so difficult in Monaco, I'll say 6-9 somewhere.

Visually disturbed but not physically, Crastappen overtaking has simply lost his bearings and his placement. He had the same shock in the same place in 2016, He still doesn't learn from his mistakes.

New MGU K for (2 by season) Crashtappen but he is still the last on the grid.

What about Indy Pagenaud and Bourdais ? I shall watch too

Victory of Ricci, despite of a problem with the RBR gear box made in the soda factory, Salzbourg, he ended with only 6 speeds and a problem with the Renault MGU-K. Ricci, héroïc, Monseigneur le Prince de Monac' .

Enormous crash of Leclerc , no front brakes...

With his brilliant race in today's Monaco GP, DR gets my vote for this season's Driver-of-the-Year (so far).
This was his 2nd victory of the year (matching both LH and SV) and he has had more Fastest Laps (3) than anyone else.
Hats off to the Toast of Australia...

Congrats to Oz and DR for the win. Very nicely done and keeping his cool even when his car had some issues.

I'm really starting to doubt Grosjean's mental ability to cope with the pressures of F1 racing. His radio transmission during the first laps and screaming that he was getting cut off.....what did you expect to happen during the first lap of an F1 race?

Jesus, I hope Romain never enters a Spec Miata race......he'll need psycho therapy assuming he doesn't end up with an on track aneurysm, LOL.

lol He has had a psychotherapy at the end of 2012, it was a success

A race I found boring. The F1 cars were slowed down so as not to make a second stop, a race to the economy. I'm starting to wonder about the suitability of this variety of Pirelli tyres.

Gasly and Ocon made miracles with their tyres HS 41 and 31 laps...impressive management.

He is not the most calm guy around.
OTOH, neither are a lot of other drivers...

"A race to the economy". In English that's almost poetry describing that race. I get that Monaco is REALLY difficult to pass on track, but I was really disappointed that NO ONE tried a 2 stop strategy.

Have a good one,
Mike
