Glad to measure them but unsure how best to measure the rounded shoulders.

Tire Rack is showing the following tread widths:
MPSS - 9.6" F 11.2" R
R888R - 9.1" F 11.1" R

So slightly narrower, but with UTOQ of 100 compared to 300 for the MPSS, should be quite a bit stickier.

I just received my R888R's from Simple Tire too....pretty awesome price and service. They only took a few days to arrive.

Can't wait to try these on the track.

I ran R888R at COTA on the same deity wheel combo- 315F and 335R. With Stage 3 front and stage 2 rear aero, it was perfect. When I pushed too hard, all 4 tires went.

I will run them at my home track where I've run cup2 a few times and report the differences. My initial thought was they gripped way better than Cup2, but then I remembered they were 30mm wider a piece up front. I'm not sure if they'd grip better than cup2 if they were the same size.

Overall width would be fine by me. Just worried about rubbing running slightly wider r888r

Eesh simpletire is way more expensive for the cup2 on the grand sport...wow!!

Wish I could fit R888R on my stock grand sport/z07 wheels... dont want to shell out the money for new 18" wheels..

I can actually get about 4 track days out of the Cup2's

what screen are you guys putting the code in?
im all the way to the end, about to hit "place order" under the 2nd payment tab and there still is no place to put in the code

edit: got a PM back from OP, and got a set ordered!
315/335 combo
was SO hard no to order 2 sets at that price.

been running Rival S and always been curious about the 888R wear compared to the Rival S. now ill get to find out.

If I kept the factory MPSS up front and added a set of these to the rear (R888R) would the car be unstable ?

I wouldn't recommend it, but I don't think the car would be unstable... and I definitely wouldn't do it the other way around.
The grip level of the 2 types probably changes at a different rate with temperature.
Pure speculation here, but the PSS might have slightly better grip when cold, then after the tire temp comes up, the Toyos should have more. Possibly starting with oversteer changing to nasty understeer after a lap.

Lots of guys running drag radials on the street...
I'll bet that makes for some 'unusual' handling characteristics!

update: they suck. 2 seconds slower than cup2 despite being wider and on smaller lighter forged wheels.

I'm going to run NT01.

They're kind of a stupid tire. Way too much tread. You're probably losing 20% of your contact path on the 888R.
