The Speedway Corp/NASCAR/IMSA just opened "One Daytona" across Int'l Speedway Blvd from the Speedway. It's an entertainment area with restaurants, shops, movie theater, and hotels.
Tonight they had the "Twenty-Four Premier at One Daytona". They had music playing, drawings for Rolex tickets, and they brought about a dozen cars over for display.
I'm not sure, but I think there will be 3 classes this year - I'm not sure if they're running the open-cockpit prototypes this year.
We went up tonight to dine at one of the restaurants, and then walked around the area to check out the cars.
Tonight they had several Daytona Prototype cars, a number of GT Daytona cars, and only one GT Le Mans car - a Ford GT (no Vettes!).
I'm looking forward to attending the Corvette Corral this weekend!!!
