As everyone has already mentioned, definitely do the LS6 valley cover swap (we sell the complete kit with everything you need), add an extra quart at the track, and run a catch can to prevent oil from getting into the intake.

Make sure you have a good oil pressure gauge with a low pressure alarm. This can save your engine.

We recommend installing the baffle and scraper first. If you still see oil pressure drops, you can always add an Accusump later. For most people, the baffle + an extra quart of oil is sufficient.

Oil cooler is also definitely required for track use. Make sure you're also monitoring oil temps. We usually recommend the 25-row Mocal or Setrab cooler as the minimum for an LS, but you have to see what you can fit in your application. Some people need huge oil coolers; it depends on the car, how much power it makes, and how you drive.

If the car is driven on the street, you'll never get it up to temp with casual driving without a thermostat, especially in cold or rainy weather, so a thermostat is also very important. For track only cars, a thermostat is only usually needed if it's an endurance racer. The Corvette Racing C6R's and C7R's run our thermostats in cold/rainy weather to keep their oil above 212F.
