First race at Vir nasa st2-Casual 1:58.7
First time at Vir...Sunday weather was gorgeous. Was feeling comfortable with track and ready to go but made rookie mistake of getting frustrated...nascar turn, esses, and pretty much every brake zone had to dial it back because of out of class traffic (car ahead of me was in st1 trim). To preface, I had been flat through esses on other laps. the problem i was finding it feels like your closing speed gets mutlipied by 3x by turn 9 and that is not the place to be avoiding ending up in someones trunk.

this is by far my new favorite track. the car does have some high speed push even with the wing set only to about 1 aoa, but that does provide some confidence knowing you are not going to loose rear of car at those speeds

we basically have the same aero set up, you are running more horse power than me but I am dealing with the same high speed push. I agree on the confidence thing but I'm really plowing the front tires through in some turns and leaving time on the table. These wing create a lot of down force so think it will be hard to get dangerous oversteer immediately. What bars are you running? I currently have the JOC front bar which is 35mm and Z51 rear. Going to start with switching the rear to stock Zo6, then try T1 or something like a strano bar. Also running 315 and 345 A7's. Glad to hear you are enjoying the car. thanks for letting me highjack.

Try more camber/caster? Air up rears an extra pound or take one out of fronts? front spacers?

im running the lg bars, without aero I had rear bar set to set to softest setting. honestly, I’ll ive done since adding aero is bump rear bar to middle setting. If I remember correctly though you weren’t running much of a splitter with Ajs wing kit. Like you said, it’s a big wing and it really needs a real splitter to help balance things out. I’m really impressed with the carbon splitter my friend Chris Faircloth came up with for wide body c6s. It’s a race piece, no pretty clear coat etc. but it’s stout as can be, light, and I think price is very fair.

Yea even with a big *** tunneled splitter the wing is making too much leverage. After lowering my wing to just about roof height the balance got 10x better.
nobody likes understeer.

Not running the biggest splitter, see here. Also have vented hood and under tray. Thought downforce would be fairly balanced. The LG bars are huge but appear to be more balanced and adjustable. I'm maxed out on front camber (without making additional mods) and have been playing with air pressure, last time out was 31 hot rear and 30 hot front. Will try bar changes and see. Baby steps with suspension tuning right.

I run an Amt camber kit, amt control arm studs, and sphericals.....-3.2 up front. I shoot for 36/37 hot on r7s. i dont think that splitter is significant enough unfortunately.

Thanks Brian...frustrating part is lot more time there but was stuck in traffic. All Friday until midday Saturday was a monsoon. Sunday was gorgeous and I felt comfortable with track and ready to go

That car must be a monster. I've never seen a 8:1 pw/wt car do 154mph at VIR - especially with aero. Big cubes I guess. And what's up with the ST1 C5 straightaway handling?
