Default C6 coilover spring rates

For those guys running C6's with coilovers and no leafs - what spring rates on the coilovers you guys running Fr/Rr?

Plan on going with good front splitter and rear wing - that will be set up for max downforce - so right now thinking around 800# front and 900# rear

I assume you are talking about 800lb springs per corner front and 900lb springs per corner rear? If so I think you are too high. Probably need to start out with 650lb front and 750lb rear.

Im currently at 1000 front, 750 rear. About to test 1100 front. ST1/TT! Trimed car in NASA world, full LG aero front and rear

General rule of thumb I believe is add up your rates and get them to equal weight of car with you plus downforce... Its a generalization and isnt perfect....

Curious as to where a good starting point would be as well. Fortunately coil springs are relatively cheap and easy to swap. Some people suggest higher rates in the front for track only cars.

My other car - which will be about 800 lbs lighter will have 950 up front and 800 or so in rear - yes easy to swap out springs.

the C6 will also be full time track car - so the 1000-1100 range sounds right - 850 ish rear or more. Car had way too much roll on stock leafs with Pfadt heavy sways - in #1 hole on front and #2 in rear - so about as stiff as one can get.

anyone have input on T1 bar vs. Pfadt heavy rate - which is stiffer?

Too stiff springs will not allow weight transfer to the outside tire. Plus higher rates will have car sitting higher. You want the lowest ride height you can get. Corner balance the car then use formula on Hyperco website to come up with rates. Then, since you are running aero, figure how much are downforce you actually have as an average for the Track.

Pfadt graph claims Heavy rate is stiffer than the T1 bar.

a former ST2 guy I talk with had perfect corner balancing - 50/50 - 45fr/55Rr distribution - ran 900lbs front and 700lbs rear - car weight 2850lbs. Car had full aero package.
He was upping to 950-1000 front and 750-800 rear - car really rolled too much. He moved and ending up selling car before making the additional changes.

Hence why 1000-1100lbs front and 800-900 rear sounds right for 3200 lbs car with 50/50 corner balancing 50fr/50Rr distribution with full aero.

Easy to change as well - doesn't take much lean to weight transfer to outside wheels - less than 1/2" roll is plenty (data out there on this)
