C5 Lateral Accelerometer Relocation
2004 C5 Coupe
Can the lateral accelerometer sensor located under the inboard passenger seat rail be relocated? I think this can be attached to a Marrad ultra low aluminum seat rail or AMT ultra low aluminum seat rail without issue.

I was just looking at the disclaimer for those rails and wondering what surprises were lurking under there.
Is it just a matter of attaching the sensor to the new seat bracket, or is the wiring harness also attached to the frame in a place that interferes with the new rails?

I can post up some pics when installed. I like the drill and tap mounting option. Just found this older thread from 2013.

I was just curious if relocating the sensor in even the slightest different position would effect “Active Handling”. From what I have read and as 3x2 pointed out earlier, is that the sensor must be reinstalled with the exact same orientation. A slight change in position foreward or rearward from original postion would be acceptable.

Every point on the chassis is always accelerating laterally in the same direction, by the same amount, so it doesn't really matter where you locate the sensor. It just needs to be firmly attached to the chassis.
If every point on the chassis is not accelerating laterally in the same direction, by the same amount, then you already have problems that Active Handling can't fix.
