Default Aftermarket Seats Off Center

Hi all,

I am having some trouble installing the following parts into my 06 Z06:

- Brey Krause R-9153 seat mount (https://www.bkauto.com/R_9153_Driver...7_p/r-9153.htm)
- Brey Krause R-9063 side mount (https://www.bkauto.com/R_9063_Side_M...o_p/r-9063.htm)
- Recaro sliders (I think 0.70.9NT)
- Corbeau Forza Sport seats

When I align the 4 seat mount holes onto the floor’s mounting studs, I notice I am sitting about 1-2” to the left of the centre of the steering wheel. The right edge of the seat is not very far from the centre console, so I am at a loss as to how to get these to fit. I have heard of people fitting Sparco Evo/Evo 2/etc. and these seats are of a similar outer width: the distance between left & right side mount holes on the seat is 16-16.5” and the distance between left and right outside edges of the seat bottom bolster is 20.5”. I also have an R-9154 seat mount for the passenger side – I was worried I got them mixed up but I see that one is offset further to the ‘wrong’ way when installed in the driver’s location, so I don’t think that is the issue.

Any thoughts? I tried to search in the various C6 subforums but wasn't able to find anything. I bought these used off of a forum member so I'm hoping it's just something simple I'm missing here.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

My Ultrashield on AMT mounts is "off-center" when looking at the slots in the seat mounts vs. the studs on the floor, but I'm lined up perfectly to the steering wheel in my C7. If I recall the OEM seats aren't 100% centered over the studs given the tunnel size etc. However, your body should be centered.

Anthony,
You state the car is an 06 Z06 but show a link to a C7 seat mount Vs the C6 seat mount. Typo or wrong part?

Hi guys, thanks for chiming in.

So to update this thread, I've resolved one problem and found another.
- The off center issue was solved by me simply swapping seat bases left & right. The BK R9153 & 9154 seat bases are each offset and not interchangeable - I had them on the wrong sides after all.
- Now, with the R9153 correctly on the driver's side, I am just about centered to the steering wheel, but the seat base is about 1" too far to the left of the seat studs, even with the side of the seat pushed up against the console. I find this to be pretty odd because, as I mentioned in my 1st post, the outer edge of the bolsters are 20.5" apart, which is comparable to a Sparco Evo 2, which has been shown to fit in other forum threads.
The only difference I can think of is that the Evo 2 tapers to be more narrow towards the back, which may play nicer with our driveshaft/trans tunnel which widens towards the back... maybe mine is hitting there - I will check that next.

I can solve the height issue by eliminating the slider and hard mounting the R-9062 side mounts to the R9153/4 bases, but I first need to align the bases to the seat studs of course.

Pics are attached to show what I mean - any thoughts/tips are appreciated.

Thx
Anthony

Sorry, I forgot to address this in my earlier reply.
It was no typo - in the description for the R9153/4, it states it will work with C6 & C6 coupes incl. Z06. I actually bought all of the BK parts (not the seats) used from a forum member who ran them in his C6Z too with Recaro seats I believe. It's an expensive upgrade so I'm still hoping to be able to use these seats as upgrading to Evo II/etc. will cost a good bit more.
