C7 Tow Eye

Is there supposed to be a cap on the front tow eye socket (receiver) on the 2019 Grand Sport? Owners manual refers to removing the cap, but all I see is the socket - no cover. Appreciate any help. Thanks

Never seen one with a cap including the 2019 GS I have now.
