Trackday noise limits
It's been awhile since I've posted on here, but I've recently been getting back into actually tracking/autox-ing my C5Z06. It's loud. I have LS3, BTR Stage IV N/A cam, supporting valvetrain, Longtubes, off-road x-pipe, Borla straights. In my most recent autox event, I was told that next season there will be a noise limit (100db). Also, a few of the tracks that I have seen and plan on running list a 104db limit at 50ft. My question is: how strict are they typically on these limits? will you get a warning? or will they just ask you to leave? For comparison, at about 50-60 ft at wot I'm about 105db

Road Atlanta has sound limits on Sunday mornings.

Many of our open track events at Laguna Seca are down to 90dB, which is difficult for some dedicated track cars to meet. They are very strict and adhere to a '3 strikes' rule; some of our club members skip Laguna rather than restrict their cars/fun. Other tracks in the area, including Sears Point, are 103dB.

Road Atlanta and Roebling Road have a 103 dB limit while Atlanta Motorsports Park has a 98 dB limit. Road Atlanta also has quiet hours from 10 am - 12 noon on Sunday as noted above when race car engines cannot be run (county ordinance). Most SCCA Solo (auto-x) events use a nominal 100 dB limit; however, I've attended events where the max level was set to 95 dB due to proximity of residential property. It's best to check ahead of time and confirm the noise policy of the event your want to attend.

Carolina Motorsports Park's rules and regulation say 105 dB while the Track Night in America events there have a 100 db limit. Another good reason to check with the sanctioning body hosting the event to determine what their dB limit is and how they handle over-the-limit readings..
