Default alignment specs confirmation

I am heading to the alignment shop today to get my car aligned. The purpose of the car is mostly HPDE/autocross. The car is an 08 narrow body /w ride tech shocks, Strano front bar, z51 rear bar, factory springs, factory ride height. I am novice level driver in both activities and am looking for something that will maximize fun and tire life without making the car nervous or twitchy.

Front:
- Camber, -2.0 ~ -2.2.4
- Caster, 7 - 8
- Toe Out 1/16" - 0"

Rear
- Camber -1.2 - -1.4
- Toe In 1/8 ~ 1/16"

I am looking for something that is as aggressive as possible for a street car but can still be driven on the street occasionally. Is this sufficient, too much?

Looks good to me. You can go more aggressive on camber if you want, as toe kills tires more than camber. For limited street use you should be good with those numbers.

well that was a failed trip to the alignment shop. The guys put it up on the rack, showed me the play in the wheels (holding the tires at 9 and 3 and shaking a noticeable (1/4" +) amount on all 4 wheels. The car needs all 4 tie rod ends replaced. The parts are ordered and will be in on Wednesday to be installed on Thursday.

Too much toe if you street much.....the scrub kills Them. Ideally Learn to set toe yourself and you can have the best of both worlds. 5 min to adjust all 4 wheels

i think he is saying for a street driven car, 1/8" toe out in the front will cause the tires to scrub going down the road. in theory it's not that difficult to align the toe on a car and if you learn to adjust it yourself you can go from a 0 toe / square setup to a toe out corner load toe setup in a matter of minutes.

In my case, my car is not driven much on the street at all.

OEM to front is 1/32 or around 0.1 deg. The difference between 1/32 and 1/16" is about 1 flat (1/6 of a turn of the adjuster).

Yes, excessive toe kills tires. Instead of "rolling" down the road, they are scuffing. 1/16 isn't horrible, but ideal you could run 1/32 on the street, and experiment with 1/16 or more at the track. The extra faux ackerman would be especially useful autocrossing

Camber - that's a reasonable place to start.. Since you (and I) are doing lapping rather than racing, I think it makes sense to set camber based on tire wear. I started at 2.5 and changed to 3.0 after a few track days, but this isn't my first track car. Rear tire wear was very even at 1.5 degrees.

Caster - I keep reading about blow power steering pumps and racks, I went down from 7 to 6.5, but I'll admit this might just be wishful thinking. I'm also staying in a higher gear a bit more often, that might make more difference.

I run zero toe up front and just a hint of toe-in out back (I don't recall the number). I like the way the car handles and it's a long drive to/from the track so I don't plan to add more toe.
