THANK YOU DOUG FEHAN Corvette Racing Team Manager Retiring

Yes I was shouting that and I mean it. Per Corvette Racing Twitter account Doug is retiring after 20 years. Words can't describe what Doug has meant to Corvette Racing and Corvette brand. He will be missed.
Again Thank You Doug!

C7 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist 2021
C4 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
Longtime Corvette Racing program manager Doug Fehan has been let go by General Motors after a 25-year-run with the brand.
The announcement, made Wednesday, sees the departure of Fehan, arguably the face of the factory operation since its formation.
While declining comment, Fehan indicated to Sportscar365 that a change in management within GM was one of the guiding factors behind the decision.
Longtime GM Racing director Mark Kent was replaced by Mark Stielow as its new director of motorsports competition and engineering in September.

2021 is going to be an interesting year for IMSA as well as some other racing associations. The GTLM class needs some serious rehab to remain an interesting class. Clearly Corvette Racing will be undergoing a major reorganization.

My wife and I have been to many Corvette Racing Events over the years. Doug Fehan was at all of them and always had time to speak with us and to answer our questions with aplomb. He is a brilliant manager and tactician who put Corvette in a position to win so many times that we lost count. I’m sure he wouldn’t remember us because it wasn’t personal but we always looked forward to his presence. He made Corvette Racing exciting for all of us and we wish him well.
Thank you Doug

I'm going to say the clock may be ticking on Corvette Racing as a GT program

The abrupt nature of this change - after another championship season - suggests major philosophical differences somewhere up the GM / Chevrolet chain of command. It makes sense that a transition to younger Corvette team leadership was being considered given Doug’s age, but hard to believe GM / Chevrolet management planned to move such a significant and well-regarded leader out under such circumstances.

Doug was an amazing man. But things change - and not always for the better. He will be sorely missed

Doug will always want you!
Doug was one of those guys that must have been born with a mike in his hand and close to his mouth. He was so enjoyable to listen to when he spoke of his team's involvement. No matter where he ends up, I bet he will for ever be a supporter of corvette and will always want us all to keep voting for Corvette.

This doesn't bode well for GM management. This whole thing stinks to high heaven, IMHO. Good article attached summarizing how poorly Doug has been treated by GM.

We'll never know...and Doug being the company guy he knows how to be, probably won't ever really say much about it. All speculation at this point...he could've left with a smile...who knows?

Hey! Ya think it was the same birdbrain that whispered on a professional, business to business level that Bill Belichick wasn't easy to work with? Or even Vince Lombardi? Seems like even infallible birds can be suspect when dealing with leadership qualities.
