GoFundMe for Mark Petronis / AMT racing/injury relief
Hey Corvette brothers and sisters:
This has been making the community rounds on Facebook, but I thought I would add to the Corvette community here on CorvetteForum as well.
Danny Popp said it best in one of his posts:
If you are able, get in your wallets and help this family out in time of great need:
Last weekend, Mark Petronis of AMT was involved in a SERIOUS accident while running a NASA event at New Jersey Motorsports Park last Sunday. He was contacted by a car lapping traffic and exited the track ending up backwards into a tree grove, knocked unconscious with the car on FIRE and the roll cage compromised. It was a VERY bad scenario.
He is not in the best of shape but is expected to pull through after a lengthy recovery. He was severely burned in the accident, at a minimum. Details still coming forth.
His family could use the extra money to cover hotel and travel expense at a minimum. He has a wife, two kids and a brother who has taken over his FB account. Anything you can contribute will help them during what must be a heart-wrenching time:

Supporting Vendor
Hi guys. Can't thank you all enough for the unbelievably generous support for myself and my family. It's most certainly going to be a long road of recovery, but my spirits have truly been lifted reading all the kind words of support all across the interwebs. Every day feels a little bit better and hopefully in a few weeks I'll be able to head home. In the meantime my brother Kevin has taken over all of my duties with AMT Motorsport. My fantastic team is still at the shop making and shipping parts, but if things happen a day or two slower than normal cut my brother some slack! Adrian at Fast Auto graciously volunteered to field any technical questions regarding the products or install. Just call the shop and ask for Adrian.
I'm still gathering tons of information about everything that happened involving my accident. Sadly my condition is due to a perfect storm of little things that went wrong, ending up in a nightmare scenario. However happily lots of Little miracles must have occurred for me to even be alive at all.
Everyone on Corvette forum has been truly supportive throughout the years and I can't thank you enough for the support then and certainly the support now. You can bet your *** I'm already Corvette window shopping, and hope to be on track with you guys sooner rather than later!

Thank you very much for posting this up. Wonderful of James Candelaria to get this organized so quickly. Hoping and praying Mark gets through this as best he can. Bad crash with serious injury sustained.

Thank you for sharing this here. I literally just donated to this gofundme. I feel like Mark is a pillar of the corvette track car community. I've bought several parts from his company and applaud him for having instructions (because no one else does). He's helped me countless times on email and Facebook on questions that may or may not be part of his business. I've never met the man but feel that he is someone who has helped me on my track journey just because he likes helping people. My heart sunk when I read he was badly injured and am beyond pleased he is going to pull through. Happy to help a man who has helped me, get well

It looks like the GoFundMe has been suspended at the request of the family for now, they're overwhelmed and grateful for the community support. Perhaps more to follow as they learn more.
Best wishes Mark.

What terrible news to see....my thoughts and prayers are with Mark and his family. I had just talked to Mark a couple of months ago on some new products he was working on.
My suggestion to the family is to consider re-opening the gofundme page so those of us that didn't get a chance to donate can. Having had loved ones in extended medical care rehab, the amount of money the family will burn through is staggering. There are a lot of things that you spend money on that insurance doesn't cover. Even having relatives and friends come to visit costs money (restaurants, rental cars, fuel, hotels, etc) but can be invaluable for Marks spirit and help his recovery.
Any excess monies generated that doesn't get used can be donated to a children's hospital burn unit, etc.

I chatted with Mark only once, and briefly, but judging from that (and his products), he's quite the quality guy. Best vibes and prayers for his recovery.
It's a slap-in-the-face reminder, that regardless of our level of care, track activities are still dangerous.
2nd vote to reopen that gofundme page.

I've known Mark for a few years now and I was in the race when this happened. It was a nightmarish situation where the perfect storm of bad things all happened together. As a result, I'm currently upgrading my fire system to include an automatic activation if ever needed. Pray for Mark's recovery. He's a great guy that always lends a hand or offers advice to anyone asking. Please help out him and his family if you can!
