Does anyone have a good suggestion for where I can find number that will stay on a Vette at Road Course speeds? I hate to use tape but so far static cling I have use don't seem to stick well. Ideas????

Try vinyl numbers from a sign shop, the kind used for making commercial car stickers. They go on easily and come off fairly easily when warm (leave the car in the sun or use a hair dryer).

Out on the left-coast I've bought my numbers from Fast Signs but just about any sign shop should be able to do them.

D.S.: Here is one fix that works and is cheap! Take your large numbers (from a printer, etc) and trace them on a stiff piece of cardboard for a template.. Now go to Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, etc. and find some Contact Brand shelf lining paper. Then trace the numbers onto the shelf paper with a felt tip pen and cut out. Peel the backing off and apply to car. They will stick at any speed. When the event is over, just peel off nad discard. Their should be no adhesive residue but if there is, just use some mineral spirits (paint thinner) to get it off. It will not harm your clearcoat. This is a tried and true method and will cost about $5 for the shelf paper.

I use the shelf paper thing too.
Super cheap and very easy to do. You can make numbers any style you want. I also buy the low tack shelf paper and it sticks perfect at high and low speeds and then when I take it off, it comes right off. No residue at all.

I use reusable vinyl numbers on the glass, but they should work on the painted surface as well. And you can reuse them for years.

Use some electrical tape on the leading edges of the numbers to hold them in place. What I did was have my numbers put on a square piece of clear static cling plastic. Then I just anchor the leading edge of the clear to the car. No problems lifting.

Hope this helps,
Mike
