my 96 at driving events will, at times, feel floaty. Floaty is the best way to descibe it. no push, no looseness, just a floaty feeling through some corners.
The suspension is all stock. so I'm thinking about lowering the rear.
any other ideas. It's a Z51 car with Kumho's. otherwise the car sticks like glue.

If the car is feeling floaty, then the last thing I would think you would want to do is lower the rear to possibly introduce more air up under the front. The C4 has a bit of rake by design, this would only compound your problem. A different shock would probably suit your needs a bit more. Others may be of more help though.
I only say this because I lowered the rear first and the car got rather twitchy on me until I lowered the front to reneutralize the car.
larry, realize that the 96's were the most softly sprung of all C4's. Even Z51's rode like Cadillacs. If you are running in a stock class, you will have to live with it. If you want to set up the car to handle the way YOU want it to, then you can get the optimal spring/shock/sway bar setup. Depending on your class limitations, you may be able to work around it a little bit with shock valving. I don't like to use shocks as springs however. But if you have no options, you could increase the bump valving a bit.
