Default Relocating battery (C4)

Has anyone relocated the battery to the rear of the car? I am considering doing this for weight distribution. I need to know if I can use the stock battery and what needs to be done.

I did mine for weight distribution and to make room for an oil cooler and supercharger air intake. I went with a sealed Optima battery; they can mount in any direction.

Welded a couple brackets to the rear crossmember which hold a steel battery tray from PepBoys; there's 2 threaded rods down to another tray supporting the bottom. Got a Taylor 2/0 gauge wiring kit from Summit and ran it with the fuel lines up to the starter; 4ga from the starter to the accessory power block.

Of course I didn't have a spare tire or exhaust in the way; others have had good luck putting it in the pass side storage compartment. Either way though definitely start with a sealed gel battery.

I put an Optima in the tool compartment behind the passenger seat. The terminals had to be sawed off to make the fit.
