Shocks???
So what is proven to be the best performing shock for autocross/roadracing out there? I had the XMS package and was satisfied, but I wanna know if there is anything a little bit stiffer. Such as the Sachs T1, LGM Coilovers, DRMs or what?
I really like the single adjustable Penske's I got from Ankeny! Not bad for street driving either. The stiffer compression settings make the medium speed transients much easier to handle and the rebound adjustablility make them great where-ever you run.

I don't think there is a magic bullet or we would all have the same. First question is how much do you want to spent. Some of the shock packages go over the six mark. I don't know much about autocross but I think it is a different setup to run at it's max. I went with the VBP springs and revalve the Bilsteins which didn't break the bank. Coilover package from the two you mentioned would be good as you can adjust the spring rates and they can give you a decent setup to start with. Then you have bushings, sway bars, tires, rims all play a part. One thing leads to another and more money. T-1 cars run real fast with the right tweeking. Look how fast Hienrocket is.
I use double adjustable custom Koni 28 series. Call Paul at Ecklers for info on these shocks with my valving. Track and Autox compression is totally different and these shocks will allow you to do both for less than 2K. They are also shortened to legal limits of SCCA. Another alternative is the single Penskes and adjusting the Nirogen pressure for bump changes. Jerry
If you want to go with the best you probably want to consider the Penske double adjustables. Major coin though, about 3k. Call Guy Ankeney at Ankeney Racing. He does shock set-up for several national autox champs and sells Penskes with his own special valving. I hope to buy a set one day.
