National Solo Champ Danny Popp to be even quicker on '04!
Danny will be on a Low Fat, High Carb(on) diet starting Monday! We at Hardbar are very proud to ship the National Solo Champion a new Hardbar! This all carbon fiber Hardbar with aluminum ends weighs only 3 pounds! This is absolutly the lightest and stiffest harness bar, period. When you are talking about how competitive National Solo Competition is, saving 25 pounds high up in the car is crutial and can be the difference between winning and 10th place. We are proud to sponsor Danny for the "04 season that will begin in next weekend in Atlanta, so this will be shipped this Monday to him. The good news is we now can make as many as we need!

No final prices yet, we need to do some economy of scale numbers first. I know what this one cost us, but we should be competitive with the high end ($$$ wise) of this type of product. Stay tuned...

Thanks, we had this made custom for us, it was not an in stock tube. It is filiment wound on a mandrel then cured in an autoclave. This is the same process that is used for everything from Trident D5 missle casings to sailboat masts. It is way nicer looking in person, you can see the fiber orientation through the clear coat but it is perfectly smooth so that the belts do not chafe. There is a magazine article coming out on Danny's car so hopefully this will get some coverage. We are obviously tooling up for some other advanced composite goodies, so stay tuned!

After 2 days of competition 10th place was 6 seconds back at the 2003 Nationals. I am sure that guy (who is still faster than me!) would be glad to know he only needs to lose 25 pounds high up in the car to gain 3 seconds per day...puhleaze!

Maybe Danny is champ because he looks at everything when he preps his cars. He still wishes we would make the lap belt bar lighter and it is way low in the car. It all adds up...

They seem to be pretty easy to sell used...
Anyway, we took these pics of it installed right before we shipped it. We have 2 more being finished, one for C5's the other for Nissan 350Z's. This is in a '98 coupe.
Thanks for the positive response from everybody, look for the article on Danny's car in "Vette" magazine soon...

These first 3 cost us alot, but if it looks like there will be some orders we will go make a a bunch. On this first one, we destroyed $100 of cutting tools until we got it right and now know what to do so we do not eat tools for each one. The 350Z bar is sold, but the other C5 bar being made is not spoken for yet...

Danny Popp won today (again) in Florida, and we congratulate him! Grassroots Motorsports magazine was there and did a feature on his car (I said "Vette" above...my mistake) so I am glad he had the carbon Hardbar in it!
Hey, should we car it the CarbBar?

I've raced against Dan and all I can say is that the whole time he drives it looks like the rear tires are never behind the front tires...the whole time on course. I dont know how he does, but he does.

I got seat time (real-time) instructions from Danny via the Evolution driving school. Dan is great! He is so fast and can give the best tips. If this is "Dan-approved" then I'm sure it's a great product.
