Rear diff - Amsoil?
I notice my rear diff was making a little noise today when taking slow, sharp turns under 0% throttle. SO, I was thinking about changing the fluid. I had the O-ring problem fixed back in June, but I am not 100% confident that the dealer put the "diff additive" in during the refill, hence the slight noise.
So what's the fluid of choice? I use Amsoil in the tranny and really like it! Any reason not to go with Amsoil?
Also, how does the GM diff additive compare to the Amsoil additive?

Not surprisingly, I use AMSOIL Series 2000 75w90 in my diff and have been doing so all year. My diff has something like 23 SCCA races, 7 DE days and 16k total miles on it and is still running strong.
I do not add the friction modifier and I don't have chatter. AMSOIL Series 2000 75w90 does have friction modifier in it, but at a lower percentage than recommended by GM. AMSOIL does sell a friction modifier to use if your diff does chatter.
