Selling my 66 BB Convertible --SOLD--
1st Full Disclosure
When I purchased this car 15 years ago I didn’t know much about C2’s, after I got it home and started researching I notice a discrepancy, what I thought was a 67 was actually a 66. The seller had inherited the car from his grandfather that had it since the 70’s, and didn’t know anything. So I don’t know how it became like it is, but the vin plate and the chassis stamp both show the correct 67 vin, but everything on the car is 66. I have enjoyed the car and as far as I am concerned is a 66, the registration and insurance shows it as a 67, this has never caused a problem.
Now to the car,
1966/67 Corvette convertible, hard and white soft top included. This is a very nice hot rod driver that has been built to be driven, not a trailer queen.
I have owned this car for 15 years and have rebuilt all the drive train, brakes and suspension. Life change has prevented me from finishing the project, basically redo the dashboard, is all working, but it can use a refresh and install a classic air A/C system. I have documentation and receipts for almost all the work done on the car.
This car can be driven cross country if you like, but it is a very powerful Big Block car, with lots of low end torque. It is comfortable and fun to drive, but when you step on it there is a lot of power available, the 5 speed OD makes it very nice at highways speeds.
427 Big Block Chevy, BBC fresh engine.
It's a 4 bold main block casting #14015445 it was build with new TRW forged Pistons(L2300F30) new Forged 7/16 Rods (10198922) and crank(3856223)of course new bearings, rings, Oil pump, timing chain, ARP main studs, the block was Line bore, honed, parallel deck, the rotating assy was balanced. Custom made cam 530 lift, 234/238 duration, hydraulic.
The heads are aluminum Edelbrock performer 100cc(60499) with Comp Cam Magnum steel roller tip rockers, Comp Cam magnum pushrods(7154), Ferrea stainless valves with new guides and multi angle valve seats.
Edelbrock Performer RPM air gap manifold, Edelbrock Performer EPS 800 Cfm carburetor(1412), Edelbrock mechanical fuel pump, MSD-6 ignition and MSD billet distributor with mechanical tach, Aluminum water pump, brackets and pulleys, low profile corvette valve covers and oil pan. This is all cooled by an aluminum Dewitts Radiator and Dual 11" SPAL fan (4139066M). Ready for A/C and it never overheats.
Exhaust is via side pipe Headers coupler to 5in Side pipes with Spiral mufflers.
Lekewood safety Bellhousing connect the Richmond Super Street 5-Speed .611 OD Transmission, at the rear is a 3.55 Posi rear end.
Steering column has all new bearings, the original power assist was replaced with an Integral Power steering system from Corvette Steering.
Suspension has all been redone using VBP products, all new poly bushings were installed, correct front springs were also installed as well as a rear composite leaf. Upper A arm was also replaced in order to allow better adjustment. (original goes with the car)
VBP stainless calipers were installed on all 4 corners with a new brake master cylinder and booster. All brake rubber hoses were replaced, and the system was filled with DOT-5 silicone base brake fluid.
Engine bay electric wiring was redone, a new alternator with built in regulator was installed as well as a fuse box, fuses were added to many circuits that were not protected from factory, including a main fuse. A new battery was recently installed as well.
Interior has nice Sport seats with lumber support and a 4-point harness was attached. A Harrison classic radio with aux in was also installed as well as a new clock. This is an original A/C car, so all duct and vents are there as well as the controls, I have many of the original A/C brackets and parts, the plan was to fit in a classic air system, but that is where the project stopped.
I have the original front bumper, upper A-arm, and spare tire carrier that will go with the car.
This car has the battery on the drive side.
Car is located in Miami, Fl.
