Default Tremec problem?

My brother in law just called me about his TKO 600. His speedo quite working and he finally got around to pulling it out. While doing this he noticed quite a bit of fluid in that area. When he removed the cable tranny fluid came out. It looks like it was pumping up the cable from the trans into the speedo head and made the speedo not work. The odometer works but not the speedo. He cleaned it and now it is working but why is the fluid being pumped up to the speedo head. Anyone heard of this. I have never checked mine but it still works OK so I assume it is OK.

Same problem that I've had. I think mine was just over full but I put what they recommended for fluid quantity however once I made the car level I had about 6 oz is or so drain out from the fill plug. Is is possible that he overfilled it or that the vent on top of the tranny is jammed down (could have happened during installation)... Dave..

That is certainly a possibility. We both put in the recomended 3 bottles and mine leaks a little (don't know where) and his leaks a little and he did mention something about the vent to me. I'll have him check it out. Maybe mine is overfull also.
