Personally, I think you ought to add the 1954 Oldsmobile F88 Motorama car to the list. I am also an Oldsmobile fan and that is the closest GM ever got back then to producing another "Corvette like" line (and selling for $3M, no less). ~IF~ I had the money, I would have bought the car myself (as I believe it is more historically significant then any other car crossing the block)... What more can you ask for then a dream car specifically designed by two of the most influential car people in history (Mitchell and Earl)... You can bet that I will definitely be visiting the museum in Colorado where that will reside and will try to personally thank "Mr. Ferrarri" myself for making it available for all to see... I think all of the CCC should make that a road trip to the museum as well (by the way, just where is the "Gateway" Colorado museum anyway?)...
There are all manner of cars going across the block; some are restored, some aren't, some have been Bloomington and/or NCRS-judged, many haven't, some were restored by professional shops and some at home, some are unrestored originals; every kind and condition you can imagine, with real, bogus, or no documentation. All are available for inspection for several days prior to the auction - you have to know what you're looking at and not be swayed by all the hoopla.
I thought the 8% buyers fee was on top of the auction price????
Yes, it is - AND, the seller also pays an 8% seller's fee; B-J gets 16% on top of the hammer price on every car sold - half from the seller, and half from the buyer.
