Default Interior trim paint

I know this is not a corvette question but I am restoring my sons 1978 Malibu. I am painting the interior plastic trim and door panels.
I went to my auto paint store with the paint code and he said it was a flat paint. Is this correct? I thought the paint was more of a semi gloss.
What are your suggestions?

Thanks

Steve

Usually interior paints are formulated in 60% and 3% gloss. In reality 60% gloss can have flatners built into the formula or be unbuffed lacquer. Usually interior colors that are also exterior colors are not necessarily flattened but they are shot rather dusty an not buffed. 3% gloss paints are typically used on the upper dash panels where glare is a problem. It is obvious that they are flatened. Most cars us a combination of the two, plus soft vinyl parts are done with dye or are colored throughout the part. The dye usually is somewhat flat also, but the colors may not be a perfect match. Unlike some restorations, interior parts tend to have lots of various shades of color.
