Default Help with `64 research

Did the `64 come with rally wheels? If so, what did the center cap look like? Photos would help.

My brother "inherited" our folks `64 coupe when they became too elderly to drive it anymore. He had it restored, but the wheels are (I believe) `68 Camaro rally wheels with the tall cone center caps. He would like to replace the center caps with correct Corvette caps, if these were ever offered.

Thanks for you help.

The first ralley wheels weren't until 1967 so, alas, there are no `64 cones. I would think the `67 Corvette ones would work though.

64's came with plain steel wheels and stainless steel full wheel covers. Each '63 through '67 year Corvette had unique wheel treatments - '63 through '66 had four different full wheel covers, and 67's had rally wheels with trim rings and low-profile center caps.

Thanks guys! That was what I suspected. I know he does not want to put full wheel covers on, so I will suggest he look for `67 center caps.

If you're not going to have the car judged, there's nothing that looks better than repro direct bolt knock-offs. If you ever decide to go with the correct wheelcovers, there were early and late designs.
