You have most of it already figured out.
Up until about 67, Muncies got a date code similar to what is on your tranny. That is, month-day. Then, the date coding changed to a number for the year, a letter for month and numbers for the day of month. About Oct 68 (for 69 model cars) an A, B or C was added at the end of the date code to indicate M-20, M-21, M-22. Hopefully (and yours does) a tranny will also have the VIN stamped on it, which will provide the year, and yours does. That 4 before the P is the year (1964). Now, if this Muncie has its ORIGINAL input shaft, it has either one or no grooves on the input. One groove=close ratio (2.20 1st). No grooves=wide ratio (2.56 1st).
Hope this helps.
