Are they making repro side exhaust covers? When I bought my new ones about 5 years ago they were still GM issue.
The pipes may be kind of difficult to tell at times. If you can use a mirror to look down the chamber section and it's larger diameter than about 1-7/8 inches they are probably repro. If the outside diameter of the chambered section is a full 3 inches or larger, they are probably repros. I think the head pipes on my GM BB pipes are 2-1/4 inch, while my repro Allens are full 2-1/2, but I may be mistaken. Of course anything that is stainless steel is not GM. If the head pipes have full diameter bends (mandrel with an inside pig to prevent crushing) they are probbly repro. However, my Allens have terrible mandrel bends - considerable crushing. There are a number of manufacturers out there now - it may be tough to tell.
Not much info but it will get you back to the top.
The original pipes have the GM part number stamped on the front or header section of the pipe close to the chambered section . They are also made in steel, compaired to Allen's, and those from Stainless Work's which are mostly aluminized.
