Trans Proublem
My 65 vette has a Muncie M20, works fine under load, all gears fine, synchronizers fine, but has a binding noise intermittingly at low speeds.even neutral.
The shifter is adjusted, but the gear oil is very dirty (plan to change). I assume it must be a baring problem. What kind of cost involved to repair?

You have to disassemble the tranny to change the bearings,at the mid plate one. If you're going to go through that you're better off buying a good master kit and replace the common wear parts too. Check with Paul at www.5speeds.com he has some great kits and offers free advice!
