Why??????
My temp ga. and fuel ga. seem to have a short . They only work intermittently I have checked under dash behind instrument panel for loose wires or anything that might cause a problem to no avail. I turn the ignition over today thinking it was in neutral but it was in gear when it lundged the gauges worked for a while. Could it be the ign. switch.? Any help would be great it is a 67 427/390. L36

The circuit that feeds power to the temp and fuel gauges also feeds the backup lights, fuel tank sending unit, and the parking brake warning lamp in the cluster; do they work? That circuit is the only one fed from the top fuse in the fuse block. Those two gauges also require a ground to the cluster to work; if the cluster isn't properly grounded, the illumination bulbs, wipers, and lighter won't work either.
