Default block date help please

I recently bought a 4 bolt 3970010 block with steel 2482 caps. it has 010/020 cast in the timing area and near the oil filter. The date code on the right front head surface is V1209TBA. the raised casting behind the distributor is a little deteriorated, but looks like either 087 or 0B7. there is a single "1" about an inch to the left of those numbers. the info ive found says that the TBA suffix was for trucks in 71, 74 and 79. The strange thing is that the oil filter pad is machined for the old style cartridge filters. my Dad swears those werent used after the 60's, and i did some searches for oil filter adapters, and found screw in filter adapters for 1955-1967 sbc. any one have any idea what year this block was made? thanks

3970010 blocks weren't cast until May, 1969, and all were machined for the spin-on filter; with the last digit of the date code a "7", that says it was cast in 1977.
