Default Boat load of frames

Don't buy one of the "NEW" ones from Corvette Central. They are the most hideous looking frames i have seen yet. Bends and bad welds no holes. Basically just a converted early seventies frame. I just sold a 65 frame to a man from Texas. he arrived with a trailer full of mid year frames. He was taking them to a guy in PA or somewhere around that area to have them restored. He bought a salvage yard that had 40 mid year frames in it and it getting about 30 of them restored.
You can look the guy up on ebay. His ebay user name is redline1965 Go to ebays home page, click advanced search, then click on find member and type in redline1965.
The guy just enjoys Corvettes and was doing this for fun. I assume that he will be selling the frames once they are restored-he just didnt want to see them go to waste.

I see nice 68 frames all the time on ebay going for around 1,000-2,000. Seems like a great deal, but i am not really sure of how many mods you must make in order for it to work for a C2. ANY HELP-i would like to know.

I think Vette Products of Michigan is the company that makes the really sh*tty frames for Corvette Central. I have seen them first hand, trust me, you don't want one. Try dynamic corvettes. They are extremely nice and will convert a 68 frame for about $3,000 total. They have a nice jig setup to ensure that everything will be dead on accurate, or at least as close as it can possibly be.
Good Luck and let me know if i can help you.

Default Frame needed

What is the fair market price of a non restored straight frame? I have a 65-66 frame that has been jig checked. I am in California, freight might be a problem. I'd like to get $3500. E-mail me at scottysalesman@aol.com .

Default 3,000?

three thousand to modify a frame after you pay between one and three thousand? Would it not be much easier on the wallet to modify the c3 frame yourself? Is it really that hard of a job?

I sold a 64 rotten frame for 1,000. A 65 frame in decent shape-some lite decay in the kick ups and rear area for 3,200, and i have purchased a complete rolling 64 chassis in perfect shape for 4,200. People who make conversion frames charge around 4,000 or at least Corvette central does and they are crap. Try a good quality resto shop or keep your fingers crossed and with on a shooting star that you find a good one on ebay or at a swap meet. I was lucky to find the 64 frame on ebay, but that was over a year ago and i have not seen a good one on ebay since. I wish you luck.

I have a very nice 66 frame that was checked on a frame rack, blasted, and acid primed. About the time I sell it I will run across a project with a Wisconsin swiss cheese facsimile. The midwest was not too kind to some of the past winter drivers. Old orig parts are getting harder to find and more expensive to ship. Good luck in your search. If your not in a hurry one will cross your path at a decent price.

Get a '67 and a '69 Chassis service manual. There are frame illustrations in both so you can compare them.

I can e'mail you scans of the frame diagrams if you would like.

My car has a '79 frame that was "backdated". This was done in 1991 when you could still buy a new C3 frame from the local Chevy dealer.
