I need to increase the value of my car for my insurance.
does anyone know where I can find or can recommend a good classic car appraisal place around Delaware, eastern PA, northern MD or South Jersey?
I've never had a car appraised before so don't know where to start looking for someone who does it.
Can most specialty Corvette shops do it? I have two (Conte's Corvettes and County Corvette) that are fairly close so if they do it I can go to one of them.
who provides your insurance (no I am not looking to start one of THOSE threads again). The reason I ask is that, with Haggerty, I simply advised them two months ago that I wanted to increase the "agreed value" on my 65's insurance with them to reflect appreciation over the last two years, a $5,000 increase, and they called back and said "fine" and sent an additional premium invoice (like $10.00). No appraisal required.
If your carrier requires an appraisal to increase your coverage, check with your local NCRS Chapter, Corvette Club, or Street Rod bunch to see who they use for their appraisals.
until I can get my car switched over to a collector car insurance co (long story i won't bore you with) my Vette is on Nationwide same as the daily driver car.
it's WAY too expensive and it's only stated value, not agreed value which makes it even worst than the high price but it's all i can do for now.
I spoke to my agent yesterday and was told to increase the value I need to get an appraisal.
thanks! I think the closest NCRS chapter is down in MD so I can try checking with them. I guess there might be one or two people in my vette club that may know someone. Most members of my club have C5's or C4's but there are a few other C2 and C1 owners so maybe they know someone.
thanks!
Barry,
I think you once said that Tonys Corvette Shop worked on your car. He could probably give one although I dont know if its necessary for him to inspect your car again.
Good idea! I didn't think of that. I figured he could do it but didn't want to have to drive her that far just for that but since Tony has worked on her and Keith knows the car well, than maybe he can do it just from my phone call. And if he needs to see the recent work I have all the pictures of the body improvements and the new paint after she gets sprayed next week.
