Default www.vettepartsonline.com

What should I do....

I order ed folloing parts from www.vettepartsonline.com ( I made my order 08.17.2004 )

1 x 3RD Member Bearing Set 129.00USD
1 x Munchie Yoke For C-2 185.00USD
1 x 1984-1996 DANA 44 Ring and Pinions 4.09 299.00USD
1 x Rear Wheel Bearing Assembly Left 195.00USD
1 x Rear Poly bushing set 49.00USD
1 x Poly kit for the differential cover C-4 35.00USD
1 x Freight to Finland via post ( insured.) 58.00USD
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Totaly: 950.-USD

I finaly got "those" parts...It only took: 6-months, over 20 e-mails and tens of phone calls...First disappointment was shipping...vettepartsonline never shipped those parts to my Finnish address...( I payed advance insured shipping to Finland ) after several e-mails and phone calls they finally shiped those parts to my Friends address who live in Florida, and he ship those parts to me...What a mess!!! But the bigest nightmare was when I open the shipment couple days ago.( 04.22-2005 )........Check this out!!!!

The shipment include folloing parts.....

"This is" C4 DANA 44 4.09 Ring and pinion.......Look carefully...the gearset is used and it is not 4.09
There is printed part no: 91980 DANA D 37792 A3R 345 4315 so the right ratio is 2.86

"This is" Munchie Yoke for C-2 Corvette....Everybody knows what kind of tranny yoke Corvette needs!!!!

"This is" Polykit for differential cover + Rear poly bushing set ( Bushings allready installed ).....Where are the rest of the bushings???

Only rear wheel bearing and 3RD Member Bearing Set was OK!

I ask one more time....WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH WWW.VETTEPARTSONLINE.COM

I have build cars over 20 years and I have never ever face this kind of mess before....Great guy!!

Default Limited options

I was able to get a refund after getting lawyers invloved and starting a web site that told my story. I truly believe that the web site was the trick.

How did you pay? If you used a credit card maybe they can help you. I hate to say it but a US lawyer may be necessary.

Take a one week family vacation to FLA .Pack your bags with cool beach toys
like aluminiun baseball bat and pay`em a visit*

Even if you take a few buddies with you it will be much cheaper than hiring
a lawer in US

Is this the guy,Carl, in FL that has changed his name and address several times over the years? If so,you're going to be out of luck as many guys here already got ripped off with poor service and repairs.

You might want to file a complaint with the US Better Business Bureau. It probably won't help you much but it is a step in the right direction. They will try to serve as a mediator. They'll probably direct you to a BBB arm local to the company. Give 'em hell.

http://www.bbb.org/

BBB has them in their databse but no reports

On my own I asked Corvettepartsonline about this situation. My email on April 28 was:

To: sales@vettepartsonline.com
Subject: Question about your policies

"A fellow member of Corvetteforum.com, the largest online Corvette community, just posted his version of his dealings with your company. His version of this story is at:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...845&forum_id=4

Based on this story, VettePartsOnline has treated this person very, very poorly. If true, this would be particularly unfortunate, because this Corvette enthusiast is in Finland and he has relied on your company to send him correct parts in a timely way. I'm sure that it is virtually impossible to buy Corvette parts directly in Finland, so our friend must rely on the good business practices of companies such as yours.

I look forward to your response, so that this situation can be made right, if necessary, and so that others in Corvetteforum.com can learn how your company responds to this unfortunate situation."

Today, May 2, I got an answer from <cshuhi@vettepartsonline.com> which is:

"This gear conversion package is standard for the 4.09 conversion, we also offer a direct fit 4.10 and 4.11 heavy duty at a higher cost, which this customer did not want. For a gear conversion in a HD Dana-44, requires a well equipped shop, and experience with this type of conversion. This is not a bolt in. We offer this package installed with a 3 year warranty. 30% of these conversion go over seas. All other parts were supplied by description and approved by a local shop who forwarded. We did not handle freight.

Thanks, VettePartsonline.com"

Clearly their answer does not address the basic problem of Brc in Finland getting used and incorrect parts. The basic lesson is to never deal with Corvettepartsonline. I absolutely detest and loathe vendors like these guys. Spread the word that they are dishonest!

In California there is a state Consumer Fraud Agency (or similar name) that can pursue serious complaints against a business and sometimes get money returned to the cheated customer. I wonder if someone in another country can try this option in whatever state Corvettepartsonline is located; this might take the assistance of a Forum member in that state.

I sent e-mail to vettepartsonline and I told them that they have posted me a wrong gear set...

I got folloing replay...

"TOMI;
That is the conversion package we use for that series gear change. It is
quite correct, and works very well. You must be very up to date with the
Dana systems to do conversion work.
We can give you technical assistance.
Thanks, VettePartsonline.com"

Meaby I have to call MR.Copperfield and ask him to make some magic triks "how to change 2.86 to 4.09"

Ps. Thanks for support all Good guys!!! I realy hope that we all learn something from this mess....

Default Another Tale

I too, bought a master brake kit and rear spring on 4/12/05. 4 o-ring calipers, ss braided lines, pads, new master trw rear spring. So far, all I received was a rebuilt master cyclinder that is incorrect for the car. I keep asking him for tracking numbers, but all I get is double talk.
I have contacted the FBI, bureau of internet fraud and the state attorney generals office, along with the FTC.
BTW; this guy deals with LoneStar caliper in Canton, TX and they don't rebuild with the o-ring calipers. I am out about $675.
I paid him with Paypal, and they are worse to deal with than vettepartsonline.
Please make this a "Sticky" so other will not get rooked.

Hey list!
Doing some research, I found that vettepartsonline, operated by Carl J. Shuhi has been around ripping people off for quite some time. At one time as California Chrome, CNC Inc., Florida Brake MFG. Inc. Florida Caliper MFG, Inc, Florida Precission Calipers, Inc, Globe Centurion, LLC, and a host of others. I have over 25 business aliases, addresses and phone numbers for this guy and his brother Bob.
Bottom line is this- as a group, we need to get this guys website off line so no one else gets ripped. Please send an email to abuse@affinity.net, his web host to report him and get him off line. If enough of us send emails to the web host, they should boot him. Below is the info from networksolutions, his IP address etc.

What a **** head. You have to really watch out for people like this. If you are an honest person sometimes it is hard to believe that people like this exist and that is when they get the better of you. Check for part numbers on the ring and pinion. He may have just sent the used gear set in a box from a different set. They don't look like 2.86 to me in the pic, but i could be wrong.
