Just took my car for the first drive since installing the new P4000 Tires.
Very smooth, I spent about an hour "working" them in and I am very
impressed with the handling, and the ride. I had a standard low speed car radial with white wall prior to the P4000's.
Took my new P4000's for their maiden voyage today. Very nice riding and handling tire. These tires seem like a good choice. Thanks to Paul67 and JohnZ for their input in previous threads concerning tire choices.
I just added 215/70Z-15 P4000 Super Touring to my car. They replaced Michelin MXV4 215/70/Z-15. I too noticed a little less vibration at all speeds compared to any tire that I have had.
I am taking the car to the track for driving lessons on May 29th. I'll post then how they handle. The P4000 sidewall feels stiffer than the Michelin. In autocrossing, the Michelin MXV4 tires would roll off of the tread and break away even with 42 psi up front. Still, the Michelins did well.

I also have P4000 on my 65 and am very happy with them. I am not trying to steal the thread but what track are you going to for driving lessons - any Internet links? I have been looking for something like that and have not found anything except on the west coast, particularly for convertibles.

Basic question here.....will these fit on the 7" rims and not rub the inner fenders on my 67?

Chances are better they will expensively ding your *outer* rear fenders.

My tires are 215/70Z-15 on 15X7.5" wheels with 4" backspacing. The fit is very tight on the rear, and I wouldn't recommend it without some serious measuring.
The track is the Nashville Superspeedway that is really just east of Nashville on I-840. It has a small road track in the infield that drops off of turns two and three. Not the best, but it is more than good enough for me. This is a link to the driving school. The Music City Mustang Club is renting the track May 27-28 and open to all cars. There are many events going on that weekend. http://www.wicksdrivingacademy.com/
ZRGator, I have a 63 with 15"x8" ralley wheels with a 4" offset that I have been running Firestone F70's on with no fender problems. I am replacing the F70's with P4000 ST, 215/70/15's and don't anticipate any problems. The F70/15's have the same height, tread width, and profile as the 215/70/15. Only caveate is the 8" wide rims, recommended rim width for the 205/70/15's is 6" - 7.5". However, generally thin wheels equal poor handling/better ride, wider wheels equal better handling/poor ride.

I've just put the same tires on my '65 and have to say so far I love them. Probably don't have fifty miles on them yet and only dry pavement so far, but they ride nice.
Sorry about my bad info on my post. I meant to ask if they would fit my stock 6" wide rims.
I have 215/65/15 on the stock 6" 67 wheels and they are never a problem, including hard driving on a track for driving school and in one autocross. I've had this combo on many midyears in the past. To me this size looks the best as far as filling the wheel wells.
