Default Door panel question

I now have the door panels off of my 62. They are original and pretty nice other than the cardboard backing has become kind of wavey over the years. While these are off can they be straightened? Maybe by misting with water and then setting weights on them? Anyway has anyone had experience with this or should I just leave well enough alone! Thanks for any input.

No experience, but I notice Corvette Central sells new cardboards.

You can try the wetting and weighting and see what happens. You can buy bare repo door panels and transfer your trim. The bare panels with upper supports installed are very reasonable on a 62. If you take this route, get the panels with upper metals. There is at least one brand that offers plastic uppers at a reduced price. They ain't worth it.

I am trying the weights now. Thanks for the input. If this doesn't work I will get the new cardboards. Darrel
