Default Block Casting Help

I looked at a 1967 corvette today The owner has owned the car for 20 years. He was told that the car was original. The engine pad numbers were right (The vin and etc) But the block casting number was not right .The corvette Black Book showed the casting number for a 1967 327 as 3892657 The casting number was 3782870 and the Black Book showed that to be a 1965 number. Now a couple other sites Mor Tec showed casting number 3782870 to be for a 62-67 327 engine I forgot to look at the block casting date but even if I did and it showed 67 The Black Book say`s that it should be 3892657 Can someone please help me with this Thank You

Casting number 3782870 is for '65! 3892657 is for '67! Looks like somebody restamped the wrong block. This info from Chevrolet by the numbers and GM casting numbers.

According to Chevy by the Numbers you are correct. The 3782870 was used from 1962-1965, the 3858174 in 1966 and the 3892657 was a 2 bolt main in 1967.
Did you find the casting date on the back of the block. That would tell you what year the block is.
