Default Air cleaner assembles

Here's the problem. I Have built a 383 with a performer manifold for use with the holley carb. I want to use an original 63 aircleaner. Anybody ever modified one of these to fit. Or what would be the next best choice to looks.

Did you want the dual snorkle type, or the chrome SHP type? Don't know how to easily modify the dual snorkle type, but the 64/65 SHP base looks the same as the 63 AFB style, but is made to fit a Holley.

BTW, the 64/65 SHP base is backordered from the manufacturer until August sometime.

The snorkle type would be my first choice. I guess I will just have to get one and experiment

Default Option

For me I ended up using a 1/2 inch air cleaner spacer (The ones from Mr Gasket that help you clear things like an electric choke). Since the cleaner bottom has a smaller opening and a thick lip, it sets on the inside of the spacer perfectly. Does not obstruck any part of the carb tubes, blades, etc. I can take a pic later if you like. EZ sends

Just noticed that you are using a holley. I'm using an edelbrock... but I suspect it should still clear the air horn fine.
